December 3BBox Review

Hello again!
I received my 3BBox in the mail a few days ago, and I already want to share it with you all! As stated in my previous posts, Tracy from Fanserviced and I both received emails from 3BBox’s founder, sharing the news about the box. I thought her idea of buying from the company and experiencing the box as a customer was pretty cool, so I did the same. You can read the introductory post here and the interview I had with the founder, Ke Chen, here.

3BBox Details:
-$12, including shipping to the US
– 4-5 deluxe sample size products
– Website:

I signed up for this box on the 8th of December and received it on the 13th of December – it came super fast! Everything wasn’t a surprise for me since I saw Darien’s (Pico Prince) unboxing – I hate surprises so I was glad I saw what someone else got.
The whole shebang.

A postcard with instructions for the products

There were five items that came in this box (the EH had 2 samples). They were in a purple organza bag, which I really liked. I’m the opposite of a hoarder; it makes me nervous having too much of one thing. If I saw another makeup bag, I’d start to twitch. The hand-written note was a very sweet touch – it definitely made the boxes seem curated for my individual tastes, and as a consumer, closer to a brand.

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Kit

“This kit supplies much needed collagen and hydration to your complexion as we head into colder months

Freshner [sic] – Dispense toner onto cotton pad and gently wipe face after cleansing

Emulsion – Apply to skin and gently pat until absorbed. Follow with your favorite serum or cream as necessary”

I received two products – a facial freshener (toner) and an emulsion. They come in little orange bottles pictured above. I hate them with the passion of a thousand burning suns. It is ridiculously hard to get the product out of them.

The toner was really moisturizing – it has a pleasant scent that fades fast, and my skin felt plump afterwards. It has a very thin, gel-like consistency. It is more moisturizing than the Etude House Wonder Pore toner, that’s for sure.

The emulsion was pretty sticky while it was sinking into my skin. It felt a little like Laneige’s Sleeping Pack, and the sticky feeling lingered on my skin for a few minutes. Afterwards, it felt a little heavy.

I’ve seen this product around, and I noticed that it was listed on the 3BBox website as a possible option, so I’m happy I got to try it. I do think it’s important to note that a 4 piece set sells on roseroseshop for $3.04 and is currently on sale for $2.13. Getting two pieces doesn’t seem like a steal.

The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Wipes

“A soft cleansing tissue that contains rosemary extracts along with other healing herbs. This product breaks down your facial makeup and gently cleans your skin without the harshness of most cleansing wipes. Use during your nighttime skincare routine or during the day for a quick facial refresher”

I don’t know how I ever made it through life without these. These smell awesome, feel awesome, and are resealable. This is the portable pack, so I’ll probably throw these into my school bag. Living in Florida makes you sweat like crazy, and if you’re not sweating glitter, it’s not fabulous.

I found them for $4.65 on Korea Depart.

K-Palette 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner

“With an easy-to-use brush, this full-size liquid liner is waterproof, quick to dry, and easy to remove with your favorite makeup remover. We love using this liner to create the perfect cat eye look.”

I am an eyeliner fanatic. I’m constantly searching for a new one to throw in my bag or keep as a holy grail. I was a little surprised when I saw the general shape of it, because it reminded me a lot of Dolly Wink’s eyeliner. My hunch was correct – it is practically identical in terms of shape and style. In order to find out which one I liked most, I tested out all three – my Dolly Wink liner, The K-Palette liner, and a Western brand – Benefit They’re Real! Liner (which was tucked away into the back of my make-up drawer because I could never get the hang of it)

Comparing the sizes. Dolly Wink and K-Palette are identical, differing only in color scheme and design.
Top to Bottom: Benefit They’re Real! Liner, Dolly Wink, K-Palette.

Dry hand, three strokes.
L-R: K-Palette, Dolly Wink, Benefit

Picture 1:

After 10 minutes (allowing the strokes of liner to dry properly), I used Philosophy’s Purity cleanser and gently rubbed the liners. The K-Palette liner is fading a little bit, the Dolly Wink is on its way out, and Benefit is staying around.
Picture 2:
I rinsed the cleanser off with water and patted my hand dry with a paper towel.

Picture 3:

I wanted to test the effects of an OCM on these liners, so I poured baby oil over them. Nothing has been done in this picture.
Picture 4:
After 20 seconds of rubbing the oil in, all three liners have faded significantly. The only one that’s still hanging on is the K-Palette liner (and a smudge of Benefit, but let’s be honest – I won’t use that anyway).
Picture 5:
I had to use ol’ faithful for this – my Su:m37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick. I wet the stick and then rubbed it onto my hand for about 5 seconds. I then rubbed in circular motions. Once again, the K-Palette is still hanging around after rubbing.
Picture 6:
After washing thoroughly and patting my skin dry, everything came off.

I really like this product, and I think this made the entire box for me. It was definitely something I hadn’t heard about, and I was delighted to have tried it.

I found it on Amazon for $19.94.

Nature Republic Nail Polish in #10

“This iconic red-orange nail polish will look fabulous on your fingers and toes this winter. Its vivid color, gorgeous shine, and staying power will quickly make this a staple in your beauty bag.”

I love this nail polish. The color isn’t true in this picture – it just barely isn’t orange, but it’s fantastic. I have it on my hands right now actually. Perfect for Christmas time or for summer.

 – Etude House Moistfull Collagen Set (2 Pieces)

To be honest, I actually dislike subscription boxes. I feel like they’re really hit-or-miss sometimes, and I always talk myself out of getting them, since I could just order what I’m interested in. This box really was a delight to get. The value came mostly from the eyeliner and the wipes, as those are two items I can see myself stocking up on in the future. I don’t think I’ve ever run out of a bottle of nail polish, but I was lacking this color in my collection, so it’ll be nice to have. As for the Etude House set, as much as I want to like it, the bottles just dissuade me. After testing it that first time, I can’t bring myself to try it again, since I know how much of a hassle it’ll be to get the product out of the bottle.

I liked this box, so I’ll stay subscribed. I hope they give subscribers an option in the future to review their items and share their thoughts. It’s cheaper than Memebox and allows for the exploration of new products, so I’m excited to see what more 3BBox has in store.
