again, lovely readers!

couldn’t stay away from doing another review – this one on a product
that I’ve used for around 6 months! I haven’t seen too many in-depth
reviews done on it, so I hope this satisfies any and all of your
questions. Here is GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment!

from Sephora,
formula was clinically developed by GLAMGLOW® dermatological
chemists to help fight all common skin concerns including breakouts,
discoloration, black and white heads, razor bumps, and in-grown hair.
Powerful, skin-clearing mud visibly draws out dirt and congestion
while a proprietary six-acid blend dramatically brightens and softens
skin. It works to magnetically draw out dirt and pores with
Activated-X Charcoal, leaving skin smooth and healthy-looking.”

PS: If you want to buy it from Sephora, there are 2 things you can choose from –
1) The gift set, which includes a sample of their exfoliator for $69
2) The Supermud by itself for $69
also mention that a lot of celebrities use this, in addition to the
fact that it was on the Bazaar’s Beauty Hot 100 List for 2013
you buy it, it comes in this fancy octagonal box. This box is bigger
than your hand, and is pretty heavy.

surprise comes when you open it up and lift the jar out – you get a
tiny jar. I mean little.
It can fit easily in the center of my hand. At first, it seemed a
little facetious to spend $69 on something so small, but I
figured that I already put next to no effort
into purchasing this, I might as well try it!
The first thing I noticed was the color – I figured it would be
more of a light color, but it turned out to be a dark gray. It goes
on easily, and has these little bits of tea leaves that seem to get
stuck to my skin once it dries, but whatever – if it helps, it

Normally, before I put it on, I
clean my face with Purity by Philosophy, like I always do. This is
just to get rid of the first layer of dirt, sweat, grime, etc. that
my skin might have picked up during the day. I used my fingers and
apply it to my face, leaving out the eyes and area by my mouth. I
apply it normally – I make sure you can’t see my skin underneath.
I’ve seen other people lightly put this on, but I have oily skin, so
I figure I should get as much sebum out as possible.

This is my face all squeaky clean and ready to go, and then my face
with the mask on.

mask has a strong smell – kind of like tea tree oil and some form
of mint, in my opinion. Once you put it on your face, and you’re
waiting for it to dry, you can feel
pores opening. For me, it’s a borderline burning sensation that is
slightly uncomfortable. People with sensitive skin, maybe swatch this
on your jawline before you try it all over.

After 15 minutes of waiting, my face is still drying. You can see the
area by my nose is starting to clean out my pores.

a side note, if you’re wearing this mask and want to have a
conversation with someone, do
it after you wash the mask off.

Seriously. It gets to a point where I can’t raise my eyebrows because
my forehead is so stiff.

30 minutes, my face becomes the poster child for an oily T-zone. As
you can see, there are so
many oily spots
At this point, my face feels like it has mini vacuums on it, and I
just want it off.

This is my face after I wash it off – as you can see, the pores on
my nose are smaller and less noticeable than in the first picture, so
that’s a plus. My skin also has a little bit more of a glow to it,
and it feels softer than ever.
All washed off!

it is washed off (warm water and more Purity does the trick for me!)
I moisturize with Dove Beauty cream and it is so
it might be weird to say this, but my skin has never felt thirstier
in its life. I normally only put one layer of moisturizer on it, but
after GLAMGLOW, I always use two. My skin feels smoother, looks
healthier, and even is less inflamed in certain areas.
Can you tell I’m getting obsessed with collages?

Look at that glowing skin!

 [DAY 2]

So it is now about 24 hours since I
first used GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment.. and as you can see
I have a couple more breakouts.
It sucks, but here’s why I’m not too
mad about it.

If GLAMGLOW’s Supermud is pulling gunk
out of my pores, that means that there is some left in there (I only
left it on for 30 minutes after all!). What I’m assuming is that when
it pulled out the oil, the pores that would have made little
whiteheads completely disappeared, and the ones that make HUGE
whiteheads just became smaller, and rose to the skin earlier.
This is a common thing I’ve noticed
every time I use it – it actually makes me get more whiteheads, but
in a less severe manner than if I didn’t use it.
I do
acne on my own, it’s bad. Like, I want to pour foundation on my face
or hide in a hole because it’s that
GLAMGLOW makes my breakouts lessen in severity.
like this product so much that when Sephora has a 20% off sale, I
stock up. Last time, I ended up buying 4 – 3 just to put away and 1
to use immediately. I ended up saving about $55, not including tax –
almost enough to buy another
if I wanted to!
Tea tree and mint. Pretty strong, and might make your eyes water if
you get it too close to them.
Dark grey, with little chunks of tea leaves mixed in. Comes in a huge
octagonal box, but expect a small product – it is only 1.2 oz after
It feels like liquid clay, honestly, or like liquid mud. It’s not
sticky at all, and it washes off easily.
$69 is a lot to pay for something this small – I’ve read on online
forums that you pretty much could make this yourself. Personally, I
find that this is one of my necessities in facial care, and $69 is a
decent price to pay for convenience and results. It also helps that I
stock up whenever Sephora is having a sale. I know the first time I
tried this I asked for a sample from Sephora (and if they don’t have
it, maybe try Ulta!) Additionally, I’ve heard of people buying this
for around $50 on Amazon.
  • Goes on smooth
  • Visibly cleans pores
  • Works fast
  • Washes off easy

  • Price
  • Strong smell
  • Pores burn while drying

☆ 7/10

It’s a product that cleans out your pores, gives your skin a glow,
and allows for even deeper moisturizing. It’s not so great because of
the price and the heavy smell, as well as the level of discomfort
that people with sensitive skin will experience, but I can live with

Would I Buy This Again?

If you can get this on sale, stock up. I pay about $55 for a bottle
when Sephora has 20% off, and I consider that a decent price. I have
been through about 3 jars so far, and I still have 3 to go – loving
it so far! If and when I run out, I’ll probably wait until the next
sale – I can live without it, but I won’t be the happiest camper.
